There are at least four different types of American Christians that are preparing for hard times to come as prophesized in the Bible.
“Survivalists,” “Patriots,” “Cults,” and “Christ-Centered” are the four major preparations made by Christian groups in America. The first three groups, Survivalists, Patriots, and Cults began preparing for hard times about twenty years ago. The last group only began preparations recently, as Christ is presently calling His followers to action. The “Christ-Centered” group are hearing the call right now, and responding as directed. Becker Bible Ministries is part of the “Christ-Centered” group, and is actively notifying Christians that it is time to prepare right now!
Christian Survivalists have prepared bunkers, caves, hidden homes, and fortresses, and filled them with all manner of food, weapons, ammunition, and generators to keep them fully self-sufficient and self-contained when the troubles begin. Usually it is wealthy people that have the ability to purchase everything they need to prepare for these times to come. They often settle in communities where like-minded people are developing their own survival systems, though most remain independent and confident they can handle the troubles on their own. They respond to the “FEAR” reaction to threatened hard times, and mostly shut themselves in their shelters and shut the rest of the world out. They drill their family members often on how to prevent their neighbors from seeking shelter with them, and how to refuse entry to hungry and scared people when end times unfold.
Christian Patriots are part of a larger group that include Secular Patriots. This group evaluates the prophecies in the Bible and connects them to worldly dangers that often are misinterpreted and false projections that do NOT contain the Truth of God. Their flawed doctrine combines spiritual prophecy with political upheaval and mistrust, creating a fear of government and religious control in their lives. Every Patriot I have ever met has armed himself with many, many weapons, and promised to shoot and kill anyone that threatens their group. The perceived threats to their group do not have to be violent; just be being present, the NON-PATRIOTS are surely up to no good and need to be stopped if they come near them. Patriots operate on the “FIGHT” principle when they see trouble. They are patriotic, tough warriors, and they love the flag and hate almost everyone not belonging to their group, especially those that are unlike them. They usually build compounds with like-minded Patriots, and join forces together so they can have an army of weapons when trouble comes.
Cults are a group of people gathered together outside mainstream Christianity beliefs, and false representation of the Word of God. Their usual response is “HIDE” when trouble approaches. Together they live simple lives, that are ruled by the Cult leader who demands belief in his belief, flawed and untruths that sound good when the Charismatic secular leader tries to lead them into a spiritual union that NEVER reflects the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ. They do NOT allow outsiders into their group without compliance to their beliefs, and contribution to their stockpile of money, food, and shared families.
CHRIST-CENTERED Faithful focus their drive to survive the difficult times that has been prophesized throughout the Bible on their ability to “RUN” away from the danger. “RUN” is a word that does NOT mean noticeable speed; rather, it speaks of a prepared family able to leave a dangerous situation until the environment is made safe again. Preparation is the key, and following the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ essential in living through the difficult times with His Witness in our actions and our words.
My next article will dissect each of these positions in meeting End-Time Tribulations and highlight Scripture with the consequences of wrong directions in handling very scary events to come.
