One of the most difficult things to master in a new walk in Christ is overcoming the terrible practices of sin that a new believer did in his earlier days. The blood of Christ washes new believers clean with their faith in the promise of God to save those covered by His Son’s blood. The Baptism of Jesus Christ removes the hold of original sin from a New Believer as they submit to the grave of baptismal water; as they rise up, death is destroyed with the hold of sin, and they are newly born into the Kingdom of God. They are clean! They are without sin! They are righteous!
Then alas, the practices of sin that they held prior to belief in Christ begin to appear in their lives. So often, these terrible practices take over once again, sometimes unawares in the new Christian, until it is too late to break the old habits once again. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit surges the New Believes with the Holy Ghost of God. His presence within you can keep you and guide you away from sin, if you allow Him to move within you. His presence can help you overcome those nasty practices of a lifetime of sin, and help you stay righteous in your life journey with Christ!
I am so glad to see that the overnight prayer in Malawi, arranged by Senior Pastor Jimmy Chirambo, is focused upon OVERCOMING THE POWER OF SIN! Pastor Chirambo is a sure and steady leader of New Believers, and his guiding and looking after their welfare is God-sent!
Jimmy had hoped to take form new Harvesters from His church to his extended ministry in Mzuzu, Malawi. Sadly, funds were lacking, but he has all the confidence in the world that the Lord will move providers as He Wills that connection to be made. As always, if you could contribute just a small bit of your money, it will produce the greatest of results to bring the Malawi people to navigate poverty and oppression and persecution as they walk the difficult and narrow path of Christ.
