Becker Bible Ministries – Malawi

The combined efforts of Senior Pastor Jimmy Chirambo (Altar of Fire Global Ministry) and Becker Bible Scholar Kathy L McFarland with their ministries to evangelize the Malawi people as the LORD God chooses, the Lord Jesus Christ leads, and the Holy Spirit moves.

Riches falling from heaven to the hands of greedy people

Some things you might not know about me, and some things you should know about Jimmy!

By Kathy L McFarland

  1. I believe with every cell of my being that the prosperity ministries in our present-day are false teachings delivered by false preachers of the Gospel to inspire common Christians to give their money to Church representatives and make those scoundrels rich.
  2. Because I know this to be absolutely true, I established the principle that I would NOT NOT NOT charge for the teaching of God’s Word. It has been twenty-six years of Becker Bible Ministries, and our studies have reached every country in the world, through students, preachers, missionaries, armies, countries, and churches. Every morsel that God has given me to share has been shared freely, without cost!
  3. It is such an important concept to me, that I have often lived in poverty (compared to most American standards) but I have felt rich (because the Lord has provided for all my needs).
  4. Every once in a while, family or friends will donate to specific causes in our ministry, and every cent is used for that cause, and only that cause, with full accountability of money spent visible to the donator. I am that serious about this important principle of sharing God’s Word without any benefit to me, other than the obedience I show to my Lord.
  5. When I first got involved with the continent of Africa and seekers of God’s Word, I was naive and easily persuaded, usually by the horrible stories coming out of those poor countries concerning the young children that were starving and without support. I would give up a meal here and there, and send any personal money I could squeeze to help. I soon found out that most of the starving orphan stories were scams, taking advantage of my heart of love to give the liar’s wicked pockets some of that money from heaven. I was foolish in thinking I could help relieve some of the pains of children’s hunger, when I was only feeding the ugly tricksters and helping them prosper.
  6. Four years ago, Senior Pastor Jimmy Chirambo and I met. Immediately we recognized that God had brought us together to spread the ministry of the Gospel of Christ in Malawi through the Truth revealed in the Word of God, without doctrine of man. Unfortunately, amongst the followers of our ministry, many different African countries with fake devotion to Christ divided my time between all of them, as I tried to discern who was scamming and who was being called by God to join me in spreading His Word. I often spent ten-twelve hours a day trying to figure out who was really a devout Christian, and who was asking me instead to rain down money from heaven and make their lives richer. Eventually, I ended up losing a some of my personal money by scammers who lied to me and did not walk the path of Christ. I had been so careful, and much less naive, but yet, the wicked ones were able to trick me because they are that good in their evil ways.
  7. During this time, I grew frustrated and lost some trust in my ability to do God’s works. I wasn’t certain I even knew how to differentiate from God’s people and the devil’s minions. In desperation, I broke all contact with Africa, prayed often and deeply for answers, and searched Scripture for help. This study lasted for over a year.
  8. This year, Jimmy and I reconnected. The Lord NEVER stopped bringing us together and encouraging us to continue the ministry in Malawi. We were driven! Neither us could leave this works undone! Truth be told, my family and friends were horrified that I would consider a ministry in Africa once again. They figured that the depression and loss of the little money I had would once again lay me low and cause me to question my worthiness to do the Lord’s Work.
  9. I shared with my family and friends as much as I was able. I confidently professed that God was in this ministry, and guiding both of us to accomplish His Works in Malawi.
  10. Jimmy had his own doubts and struggles going also. Malawi is a culture of rich preachers that are supported by big money from America. The more money coming to them, the more famous they become. Jimmy shared with me that as he faithfully and slowly developed the bits of the ministry he was able, the rich and arrogant preachers and churches laugh and mock at his efforts. They continuously pointed out that he had absolutely no support from anyone that could financially uplift his efforts and that he should stop developing his ministry.
  11. Jimmy and I heard the Lord CLEARLY! We knew what we should do in Malawi! And we knew that we were two of the most unlikely people to ever accomplish this important ministry!!! Both he and I are some of the poorest in our countries. We don’t have riches raining down from Heaven. We struggle daily to live, and support God’s works when we can by doing what He tells us to do. We sure can’t contribute to the financial side of things easily!
  12. This week, I am going to be writing about Senior Pastor Jimmy Chirambo, and the building of their church which is ongoing. I want you to read his words carefully and deeply. Note how there is no great financial transactions going on! And while you are at the deep thinking, wonder upon how Becker Bible Ministries became known all over the world without any great financial transactions going on!
  13. Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world. If God moves you to give to Senior Pastor Jimmy Chirambo and his church, Altar of Fire Global Ministry, I have made it easy for you to connect to him. WE DON’T WANT YOUR RICHES! WE AREN’T BEGGING FOR YOUR SUPPORT. We merely want you to know about the great movement of God beginning in Malawi with Senior Pastor Jimmy Chirambo and me (Kathy L McFarland with Becker Bible Ministries) and invite you to help with small donations as often as you are moved to do so by God, only.
  14. Make sure to read the next post about how the church building started in a maize field! Thanks be to God! And thank you for your future support!
