Pastor
Marshall was ordained in October of 1957. His educational
qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Divinity, and
Doctor of Ministry. After a decade of pastoral service in Southern
California, he was endorsed by his denomination to serve on active duty
as a military chaplain. After a year of combat service in Viet Nam, he
came off active duty in 1975. Suffering from bouts of depression, for
the last three decades he has endeavored to search the Scriptures for
positive principles he could turn into a life style of praise. His
mission has been to “declare the praises of Him who called you out of
darkness into His wonderful light” (1 Peter 2:9 NIV).
Out of this struggle with depression have emerged two books: Turning Problems into Praise and The Christ of Miracles and
the Power of Praise. In both these books Pastor Marshall seeks to
find insights that can provide the spiritual ammunition to shoot down
gloom and doom and keep the flag of joy flying atop the citadel of the
soul.
Because of the generosity of previous pastorates, he is able
to offer one copy of each book free to each household. Additional
copies are $8.99 / book. Also there is a mailing and handling charge of
$5.00. A number of people who have been blessed by Dr. Hoffman’s
ministry have asked if they could give a free will love offering to
assist him, as a disciple of praise, to continue this ministry. This
would be appreciated but there is no requirement to do so.
